 India won the first ODI by 7 wickets


India took a lead in three One Day International series against the domestic Sri Lankan's in the first match played in R. Premadasa Stadium. SL won the toss and decided to bat first against the the India B team but could not deliver better performance and lost the match with 80 balls left. 


Indian bowlers really played well to keep Lankan's score 262 in all 50 overs of bowling. Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each while the pandya brothers took 1 each to destroy the Lankan's batting. For Sri Lanka a lot of their openers goes good in the initial time but none of them convert that score into big to put big target for the blues. Chamika Karunaratne was the top score for Sri Lanks, 43, while other batsmen do contributed runs for Sri lanka but that was not enough for them to secure the win. Dasun Sankara scored 39 runs while Charith Asalank contributed 38 runs for Sri lanka.




In the second innings, India showed a race to put the show end in hurry. Indian little master Prithivi shaw showed a brilliant batting show hitting 9 fours and scored altogether of 43 runs in 24 balls. On the other end skipper Shikhar Dhawas was building runs slowly to make easy for the youngsters. He kept rotating between wickets and score not out of 86 runs till end of the match.The other dashing youngster Ishan Kishan put amazing performance with his bat and scored 59 runs in 42 balls hitting double sixes and  8 four. Manish Pandey scored 26 runs in 40 balls while Surya Kumar Yadav scored 31 runs in 20 balls. Dhananjay de Silva took 2 wickets and Lakshan Sandakan took a wicket for Sri Lanka but that was not enough for the team.




India ahead against Sri Lanka 1-0 in three One Day International series. Indian team look hurry to finish the show and they did easily with 80 balls remaining. Indian little master Prithivi Shaw declared player of the match in the first series.
